TROUBLESHOOTING

 

Introduction

We are sorry that you have been experiencing problems with one of our game. This page should help you troubleshoot your problem.

 

Up to date version

Make sure you have the latest version of the game. You can download the latest demo version on the ovogame website.

 

Rebooting

Sometimes, simply rebooting your PC then reloading the game can rectify the problem.

 

DirectX

Ensure that you have the right version of DirectX installed on your PC. You can download the latest version of DirectX here.

 

Hardware Acceleration

Make sure that you have Hardware Acceleration turned on and set to 'Full'. In order to check and adjust your hardware acceleration settings Right Click on your desktop and select Properties. Go to the 'Settings' tab and select 'Advanced'. A new window should open. On this window select the 'Troubleshoot' tab. Here you should see a slider that allows you to adjust your hardware acceleration levels.

 

Graphics Card Driver

Your graphics card may be using an old driver that is not compatible with the game, and so may need updating. In order to do this, consult your Graphics Card’s documentation where you should find a website from which you can download the latest driver for your card. Once downloaded, run the driver file and follow the prompts. Once the installation is complete, reboot your machine and try loading the game. These are the main graphics card manufacturer: Ati, Intel and Nvidia.

 

Background Applications

You may have too many background applications running on your PC, such as anti-virus and spyware-detection software. Try turning some of these applications off – especially any anti-virus software – then reload the game. Please note that if you disable any background applications your PC may no longer be protected from viruses, spyware or other threats.

 

Webcam Driver (For OvO only)

Your webcam may be using an old driver that is not compatible with OvO, and so may need updating. In order to do this, consult your webcam’s documentation where you should find a website from which you can download the latest driver. Once downloaded, run the driver file and follow the prompts. Once the installation is complete, reboot your machine and try loading OvO.

 

Blurry Picture from Webcam (For OvO only)

If your image is blurry, you might be able to fix this by adjusting the focus of you camera. You probably need to do this manually by turning the camera lens until you reach the desired sharpness.

 

Sound Card Driver

Your sound card may be using an old driver that is not compatible with the game, and so may need updating. In order to do this, consult your sound Card’s documentation where you should find a website from which you can download the latest driver for your card. Once downloaded, run the driver file and follow the prompts. Once the installation is complete, reboot your machine and try loading the game.

 

Fragmented Hard Disk

If your Hard Disk is overly fragmented, you may experience problems running the game. In order to defragment your hard disk, go to the Start menu in Windows and then select 'Accessories'. From there, highlight 'System Tools'. You should now see an option to defragment your hard disk. Once defragmentation is finished, try running the game.

 

Corrupted Files

Some of the game files might be corrupted. Try to remove and re-install the game. Make sure, you still have the installer before removing it.

In the event of the game still not working after you have tried all the previous fixes, you can send us a message at: ovo@ovogame.com. To help us identifying your problem, don't forget to tell us the name of the game and attach the following information about your PC. Click on the "Start" button at the bottom left corner of your destop. Select the "run..." option. A new window will open. Type dxdiag.exe (inside the typable area) and click the "OK" button. This will open the "DirextX Diagnostic Tool". Click on the "Save All Information..." button. Save the file on your hard disk then attach it to your message. Also, try to give us as much detail about what is going wrong with the game. For example, you should tell us how far the game runs before you encounter the problem or any other type of information that you think is relevant.
